A young man who once joked that he could not eat at McDonalds because of his bad sense-of-humour is now making a name for himself.
The 29-year-old, who does not want to be identified for fear of offending his girlfriend, told The Daily Telegraph he had spent months researching and cooking for a menu with the aim of winning her over.
The idea to open a restaurant was inspired by his childhood, he said.
“I always wanted to go to McDonalds, but I had no idea how.”
After doing research online, I came across the menu and I realised I could do something with it.
“The man, who is not employed and lives with his mum, said he would not want his name used, because he did not want it to affect his reputation.”
It’s been a long road, but it’s paid off.
It’s not only a great idea for me, but for the restaurant,” he said of his restaurant.”
There are so many good people working in restaurants.
“The best thing about this is that it’s a very creative way of making money, but you get to eat McDonalds.”
The young man said he wanted to do things differently for the future.
“With my mum I was really worried about my health, and my weight.
I was very skinny, and I couldn’t do it,” he explained.”
When I was younger I would get a little bit of a kick up the backside.
I wanted to change that.
I thought: ‘What if I make it really easy?'”
His restaurant is the result of a trial, which has been widely shared on social media.
“My mum wanted to make it something for myself.
It was my idea to do it, but her dad’s not a fan of me saying it,” the young man told The Telegraph.”
He thought it would be a waste of time to me, so I’m not saying he doesn’t love me or anything like that.”
But he just wanted to have me do it.
“He said the menu was inspired from his childhood.”
For me it was just like eating something I like to eat, and that was McDonalds,” he recalled.”
As I grew older I started to think about what I could make for myself, and the food was really good.
“The menu has been shared more than 1,000 times on Facebook, with many people responding with a positive response.”
What I’m trying to do is not only sell the menu, but also make it easy for other people to do the same thing,” he added.”
That way I can keep doing it.”‘

People come up to me after they’ve ordered, they say: ‘I’m looking forward to this meal.
What is it you’re doing?’ and I’m like: ‘It’s not just McDonalds.
There are loads of different restaurants that are selling really good food.’
“I think it’s good for the local economy because it brings in more business, but really it’s about being a happy, relaxed person.”
