Markets close today in Europe, as Europe struggles with a new spike in fuel prices and Europe’s energy watchdog examines the effects of the carbon tax on the economy.

The commission said it will “look at the impact on consumer price inflation as well as other potential negative impacts.”
The carbon tax was introduced in 2018, which began in January.
The Commission has not said when the study will be completed.
